We really do have to commend our city for its environmental efforts. From banning plastic bags
to creating miniature parklets
, S.F. is certainly ahead of the curve when it comes to pioneering eco practices to brighten up its streets. According to the S.F. Bay Guardian
, the city is now standing up to the multi-billion dollar bottled-water business by initiating a ban on plastic bottles under 21 ounces inside city limits.
Are you gleaming with pride yet? A bit, ahem, bottle shocked? Well, you should be. This historical move makes S.F. the first U.S. city to undertake such a ban — a surefire way to spark momentum in the rest of the country. The rule will be rolled out in October, which gives us plenty of time to stock up on re-usable sippers. Bkr
