Who says blonde hair is exclusively a summer thing? Answer: no one, after seeing Kate Mara's brand-new dye job. Her bob is so vibrantly blonde, it looks like lemon frosting. But, since the color is balanced with golden roots, there's nothing too sweet about it. Quite the opposite, in fact. While we loved her auburn hair and its boho-romantic vibe, there's just something edgier about her bright locks — and they'll work with everything from that rad crop top to whatever gorgeousness she wears to the Golden Globes. Speaking of which, this hair switch was timed really well.
We've been seeing a lot of women with this hair color recently — as predicted by Kyle White, lead colorist at the Oscar Blandi Salon, who told StyleList a few weeks ago, "The 'It' color of 2014 is going to be platinum with a capital blonde." So, it seems that the new year is officially in full swing. Era of Platinum Blonde, here we come.
