Anna Wintour strikes us as the kind of woman who knows what she wants. Who's on the next cover of Vogue? How can the country better our foreign relations? What's for dinner? These are questions we imagine she could answer without hesitation and with a thoughtful, intelligent response. But, in a talk at the WWD CEO Summit with CBS head honcho Leslie Moonves, La Wintour confessed that, like us, she's very well acquainted with the smile-and-nod technique, so to speak.
“I think possibly what people working for one hate the most is indecision," the Vogue EIC and Condé Nast artistic director told Moonves. "Even if I’m completely unsure, I’ll pretend I know exactly what I’m talking about and make a decision." And, with that, we have even greater admiration for the editrix. Hey, we're not saying it's okay to just not know what other people are talking about, but we're all caught off-guard at one point or another, and we love Anna's never-let-them-see-you-sweat advice. “The most important thing I can do is try and make myself very clearly understood,” she added. Based on Wintour's historic career, we're sure that's something she has down pat. Read more of Wintour's interview in the jump. (WWD)
