How To Kick Butt At Work, Advice From Our EIC

At this point, you all know Christene Barberich, our editor-in-chief, is pretty awesome. She's got killer style, brilliant vision, and sage advice to spare. And now, it looks like the good people at Joe's Blackbook know it, too. CB, as we call her, sat down with their team to talk about everything from style inspiration and thrift-shop treasures to her daily routine, and of course, she shared some very solid career tips.
Our favorite piece of said advice is her secret to diffusing workplace conflict: "Always, always, always take a moment. Take a walk around the block. Write that crazy aggro email and then just delete it. Do whatever you need to do to come at the situation with clarity and calm."
Also particularly helpful to the likes of us? Christene's advice for budding writers. "Write as if you were speaking and just start from there, instead of writing how you think other people want you to. It takes a lot of courage and tenacity to just be yourself and work on honing that." Something we aspire to every day.
