Flowing locks, big eyes, pillowy lips — beauty sells…cars, apparently. At least Jaguar seems to think so, hiring Lana Del Rey as the new face of the brand. Working retro charm to a T, and sizzling with poolside glamour, Lana amps up the sex appeal for the launch of the Jaguar F-type. (As if that plush leather interior wasn’t enough.) A step away from her favorite vintage Merc, the F-type is a suped-up sporty two-seater with swanky convertible top. a.k.a.: automobile badass. But, in terms of inspiration, well... anyone else noting any similarities to Lana’s Blue Jeans vid?
Styled in a floppy brimmed hat, a plunge-necked white onesie, and a pair of driving-wheel sized hoops, the Video Games singer certainly oozes allure. Sharing on the pairing, Global Brand Director Adrian Hallmark speaks out: ”The allure of Jaguar is in large part due to its duality — a unique blend of authenticity and modernity, two values that we believe are shared with Lana in her professional achievements”. Authenticity, modernity... and a small six-figure sum. Just sayin’. Now quite accostumed to the modeling world, with those H&M ads, some Mulberry brand ambassador-ing, and now this, somehow we can’t imagine this is the last time ad men will tap the fact that yes, the girl is photogenic.
