While San Francisco certainly isn’t short on artisanal coffee shops with reliable Wi-Fi and ample wall outlets, there comes a time in every freelancer’s day when they want to venture outside of their protected caffeinated confines and work somewhere else. Fortunately for laptop-toting creatives, there are plenty of equally satisfying — and high-speed ready — spaces nearby.
From a cyclist’s clubhouse in the Marina to a fresh little yogurt shop in Pacific Heights, here are 10 non-coffee-shop locales to get work done — most including free Internet (only 2 require a membership) that won’t leave you smelling like locally sourced deep roast, not that we don’t love the aroma. All you need to do now is plop down and plug in.
