At this point, you're likely familiar with the standard holidays on a U.S. calendar. There’s Memorial Day in May, and winter seems less daunting with the promise of Christmas and Hanukkah in December. Plus, who can forget the ever-important Penguin Awareness Day in January.
Oh, that's right. Penguin Awareness Day doesn't appear on any day planners or fridge-magnet calendars because it's totally weird and likely not recognized by President Obama. However, our calendar is secretly chock-full of completely strange and wonderful days dedicated to just about anything you can think of — and can't think of.
