Watch Daphne Guinness Dress For The Met Gala In Barneys’ Windows

If there's one New York event where we really truly care to see who's wearing what, it's the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala, coming up this May 2nd. And if there were only allowed to view, just one, of the hundreds of glamorous creatures clothed to perfection (and sometimes beyond) that night, it would be none other than The Honorable Daphne Guinness. We don't need to hype up the sartorial CV of this human black swan—it speaks for itself. That's why, if our invites to the Met Gala fail to turn up in the mail (yet again) we will most definitely be in front of the windows of Barneys New York, where Guinness herself will dress, do her makeup, and add all those final touches to her look in full view of the public as part of the retailer's "Fashion as Art" installation. As she explains in her Vogue column, Guinness will try on various pieces from Isabella Blow's collection as part of a longer-running piece in the window, all to the pleasure of the unwashed masses (us included) who will no doubt be camped out in lawn chairs for the once-in-a-lifetime combination of glamor and awkwardness. We wonder, will she also be "pre-gaming" in public view, or is that held for the limo ride over to the Met? (Vogue.com)
