I've been lusting after a Vitamix ever since I first heard of its high-powered, blend-anything, change-your-life capabilities. Anyone with a modicum of culinary interest has heard the legends of grinding your own flour or DIYing peanut butter and almond milk in seconds — not to mention making a smoothie out of anything. I'd venture to guess this thing could blend diamonds.
So, my one-on-one with the Vitamix S30 was pretty much the greatest celebrity interview I could imagine. With this new addition to the Vitamix lineup, the brand is jumping into the personal-blender game, a recent trend in kitchen appliances that appeals to bums like me who love a good green smoothie, but would rather throw a blender out than scrub it clean of kale particles.
In this video, I tested out just a few functions of the Vitamix S30 and fell absolutely in love. This machine is an investment to be sure, but anyone who spends time in their kitchen will find it useful for many functions and recipes. Grinding flax meal, pureeing soups, whipping large batches of cream in seconds — a lot of tasks are made easier and faster with a tool like this.
