    This party season, Versace’s pre-fall collection whispers rather than shouts its glamorous message. And, we couldn’t be happier. The brand’s iconic design details are present, but it is the subtle, edgier additions that get our blood pumping.

    Powder-puff pink overcoats vie for attention alongside micro miniskirts, pin-sharp cigarette pants, and tough-girl biker jackets. Overall, the silhouettes are softer with diamond studs adding the shot of glamour we’ve come to expect from this legendary label. And, while the signature Medusa print blouses and dresses have Gaga, the label’s campaign star, written all over them, it’s the buttoned-up silk blouses, circle skirts, and skinny heels that have us reaching for our credit cards. Do Italians do it better? In this case, the answer has to be in the affirmative.
