For those adhering to the academic calendar, the unavoidable end-of-summer bummer never shows up without a silver lining or two. For some, it's the return of primetime television. For others, it's all about the seasonal beverages. But, for most of us, it's the sheer enjoyment of busting out those cozy, chunky knits and chic leather boots after months of only denim cut-offs and white tees.
Unfortunately, it seems our city hasn't got the memo. We're nearing October, and it's actually sweltering out there — which makes kicking off the school year in anything resembling a classic style a bit of a sartorial challenge. Clearly, ignoring the weather and wearing your new cropped trench is not an option when your entire body is going to transform into a sweaty mess as soon as you step out of your air-conditioned apartment.
We found a bevy of UCLA and USC students (as well as one doctor!) who are handling this fall heatwave in the coolest of ways. Follow their lead, and you won't have to worry about showing up to class (or the office) looking red-faced and overheated.
