Every summer, we resort to the trusty beauty regimen we've come to rely on to feel heat-wave-ready: painting our digits a screaming-bright neon, swapping our maroon lips for corals, and tousling our highlight-streaked hair with salt sprays for that "just swung by Montauk" effect. But, a couple of months and a handful of 90-degree days into the season, our go-tos inevitably start feeling a bit stale — let's just say our beachy hair isn't so peachy anymore. So, we called in the pros to give our lax looks a refresher.
Since we didn't want to totally
turn our backs on the summer beauty game that's served us well for so long, we decided to take on easy, minimal upgrades that deliver maximum
impact. Ahead, nail art that mixes all your favorite summery hues (no, nail art isn't dead yet), two-toned lips for a Popsicle-like finish, and a new kind of plait that will upstage every French, fishtail, and crown braid you've ever glommed onto. So, click on and reset your beauty kit — laid-back has never looked this good.
