Style Syllabus: How To Get Ready In 5 Minutes

Running late for class is not an excuse to wear pajamas in the lecture hall, ever (unless by pajamas, you mean the printed pajama pant trend, in which case, go for it!). If you're like me, the time between prying open your eyes and sprinting out the door to class usually clocks in under the time it takes to brew a coffee, much less blow out your hair, put on a full face of makeup, and concoct an inspiring outfit. But just because you're a late sleeper doesn't mean you have to look like it. Here are quick fashion and makeup tips for how to not look how you feel when you have five minutes to do what usually takes an hour.

Think Big—Big jewelry will give you instant glamour. Choose a necklace that's long enough so you don't have to bother with the clasp.

Slip On, Slip Off—Shoes must be of the slip on variety—we can't bother with fussy ties or zips! These leopard print ones also benefit from being insanely adorable.

Show Your Stripes—We love wearing thin Breton stripes because they’re a traditionally classic and refined piece that'll elevate your look. Find a chic but comfy variation like this one.

Bed-Head, Begone—Choose a hat to hide that bed-head! Or, a gorgeous scarf will effectively distract from any kinks in your hair.

Double Up—Choose makeup products that do double duty. We like a tinted moisturizer with a swipe of Tarte's stain across our cheeks and lips for a flush. Got an extra 10 seconds? This Maybelline Volum-Express mascara dries fast and has unbelievable coverage.
