When you think about strawberries and beauty products, we bet your mind immediately jumps to sweet-smelling perfumes and soaps. But, strawberries can do so much more than add fragrance — not to mention fill your belly and adorn your favorite childhood toys. Turns out, these berries can be powerful additions to your beauty regimen.

Strawberries are rich in alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), salicylic acid, vitamin C, and antioxidants, which make the super fruit extremely effective at sorting out many skin issues. These ingredients help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, clear up stubborn breakouts, tighten pores, brighten, and prevent environmental damage to the skin.

The best part about using strawberries in your beauty routine is that you can simply stop by a grocery store to pick up a box and go to town with all of the DIY possibilities. And, some of those are incredibly easy: We stumbled upon the easiest scrub ever, which consists of cutting a strawberry in half, rubbing the juices all over your face, letting it sit for a few minutes, and washing it off. Voilà, you've treated yourself to a gentle AHA exfoliation in less than five minutes.

Now, slathering mayo on your locks may not seem like the most glamorous beauty ritual, but trust us, the condiment will moisturize your strands while the strawberries' astringent properties work to clarify them.
