Play With Your Food, Win Big Prizes From Straw

After hearing over and over again that playing with your food is indicative of bad manners, we’d never have expected that fiddling with your plate could actually lead to major rewards.

But that’s exactly what's happening at the Hayes Valley resto, Straw. How so? Well, when you decorate a Mr. Food Face Plate (you know, those things kids eat off of) with carny-inspired eats, you could potentially win a grand prize for two that includes a free dinner at Straw, ice cream at neighboring gelato parlor Smitten, tickets to a Rickshaw Stop show, and — no joke! — a one night stay at the Hayes Valley Inn, with complimentary java at Blue Bottle Coffee in the morning.

Perhaps this Hayes Valley staycation sounds too good to be true? It's not. All you have to do is snap a photo of your funny-face plate and send it to the folks at Straw, who will post it to their Facebook page.

The plate photo with the most "Likes" by February 28 will be deemed the winner! Also, the photo with the coolest commentary attached will garner its creator the second prize of two tickets to the S.F. Symphony and a $50 Straw gift card. Now that’s a lot of donut burgers!
