This Is How Color Fiend Solange Does Head-To-Toe Nude

When we think of outfits we love on Solange Knowles, we think of her wearing designers like Suno, Matthew Williamson, Kenzo, and Clover Canyon. We think prints, brights, and any mashup of the two. Not anymore. Our style muse is keen to mix things up and throw us for a loop, and that is especially visible in our favorite look worn by her this week.
Appearing at the Joe Fresh Toronto Fashion Week kickoff party, Solange wore head-to-toe nude, mixing a chunky-knit sweater, a high-slit mini skirt, and a single strap, barely there, high-heeled sandal. The showpiece however was the emerald green leather jacket, which not only made the ensemble pop but also clashed cooly with a violet lip. Think of it as the Solange answer to nude dressing — one that is never entirely devoid of highly pigmented color.
But, one of the best parts about her ensemble is that if you have $100, you're very close to recreating it. Her outfit is crafted nearly entirely from Joe Fresh, which means that each piece is under $100 — save for her Stuart Weitzman heels (sorry, y'all). It's not only wallet-friendly, but shows how easy it can be to make a tan monochrome pairing look chic. The trick is to stay as close as possible in one color family, but don't be afraid to mix textures. Keep the silhouette clean and simple. And, finally, top it off with one juxtaposing color. Want to take it a step further? Try it with any number of color mixtures, such as brights — a nod to Knowles' OG signature fashion move.
