This Bride Left At The Altar Took Her Own Awesome Wedding Photos

We can think of few things more heartbreaking than a wedding that's called off. Shelby Swink met her ex-fiancé in 2011 at the University of Tennessee, and after a few years of dating he moved back to be with her in her hometown in Memphis. In the spring of 2014, they were engaged and planned for a wedding in the fall. But, a few days before the ceremony he abruptly called things off, saying he wasn't in love with her anymore.
Instead of letting the pain and disappointment control her, she took matters into her own hands and decided to still take her wedding photos. Her bridesmaids and parents wore their wedding attire and brought along paint, feathers, and Champagne for an amazing photo shoot that celebrated moving on. "I can't even describe how liberating and cathartic the trash-the-dress experience was for me," Shelby says. "The moment the paint hit my dress, I was free. I let go of all the hurt and disappointment and became myself again." Click ahead for the spirited snaps and one of the best "trash the dress" photo shoots we've seen.
