main
Start freeing up space on your calendars, folks, because our roundup of can’t-miss upcoming events will have even homebodies leaping out the door. From an entire expo dedicated to vintage duds to a trunk show of outfit-making shoes, this week is not one to be forgotten. Behold, the raddest shindigs guaranteed to shake up the monotonous workweek.

Eat Real Festival

It’s a well-known fact that us city-dwellers love to eat locally sourced grub, often dished out from coveted four-wheeled food trucks. And at this no-entry-cost, three-day Eat Real Festival, there’s no better way to chow down on sustainable street fare. Expect scores of delicious eateries on the scene including The Crème Brûlée Cart, Kara’s Cupcakes, and Ritual Coffee Roasters. And we’re eager to get our hands on some dough and take part in the pizza-making course, among other DIY activities. Tummy growling yet? Satisfy your cravings and get the deets below.

When: Friday, September 21, 1 to 9 p.m. through Sunday, September 23, 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Where: Jack London Square, 65 Webster Street (between 1st and 2nd streets); 510-842-1017.

Freda Salvador Launch Party

Our love for rockin’ S.F.-based shoe line Freda Salvador is undeniable. Not that we’d even attempt to hide our affections for the killer kicks. Instead, we’d rather express our fondness by stopping by the line’s debut launch party and trunk show, going down at Parisian-themed shop La Boutique L’Art Et La Mode. Although, this soiree isn’t open for just any gal looking to step into the pretty pairs — hopeful guests are obliged to add their name to the list by registering at info@fredasalvador.com.

When: Thursday, September 20, 6 to 8 p.m.

Where: La Boutique L’Art Et La Mode, 414 Jackson Street (at Sansome Street); 415-693-9950.

Score! Pop-Up Swap

Sure, we may be pampered with delicious restos on almost every corner, but when it comes to square footage in our apartments, we’re anything but spoiled. Heck, we even tapped an expert to help maximize our space, but we’ve found yet another way to clean out our closets. At the Score! Pop-Up Swap, trade your used fashion accessories and vinyl in exchange for another (wo)man’s treasure. Then, once you’re satisfied with your newly found stuff, celebrate with tunes and cocktails.

When: Saturday, September 22, 1 to 4 p.m.

Where: The Bold Italic, 34 Page Street (between Franklin and Gough streets); No phone.

Cost: $5

Vintage Fashion Expo

Call off the search party! We’ve already found the dreamiest vintage-shopping destination to get our hands on one-of-a-kind duds. This weekend, The Vintage Fashion Expo (heaven?) will be unloading its yesteryear threads, including designer pieces from the likes of Bill Blass, Lanvin, and Chanel. No need to pinch yourself, this event is totally real.

When: Saturday, September 22 and Sunday, September 23, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Where: Concourse Exhibition Center, 635 Eighth Street (at Brannan Street); 415-487-3293.

Indochino Traveling Tailor

Is your dude looking to spruce up his style? We suggest taking him to Indochino’s Traveling Tailor, where he can get fitted in a dapper suit and look sleek in no time. And if seeing him suited up wasn’t incentive enough, a free dress shirt comes with every suit purchase, which we think you could totally borrow for a menswear take on style. Reserve an appointment by registering here!

When: Tuesday, September 18 to Sunday, September 23

Where: 710 Market Street (near Geary and Kearny streets); No phone.
