Just when we thought the color hair fad was slowly but surely fading away, Teen Vogue brings a new trend to our attention, taking unicorn hair to new, intense levels. Inspired by designer Clashist's sand-art patterned clothing, colorist Rebecca Taylor translates the technique to hair. Taking cues from our favorite childhood pastime — finger painting, the hair is left with an ombre rainbow effect that is sure to turn heads wherever you go.
Taylor uses the new hair-color line Vivids from Pravana, which gives the hair long-lasting and vibrant color that won't bleed or stain. Check out the video below as Taylor walks you through the intricate process it takes to get the layered effect. While the result is absolutely stunning, the one thing we are concerned about is that growing our process. We definitely wouldn't want to be the colorist stuck touching up those roots.
