Ruben Toledo Gives Bronte and Austen Fashion Makeovers

ruben-toledo-emily-bronte-cover-penguin
Illustrator Ruben Toledo, husband of Isabel Toledo, has put his colored pen to work for the likes of Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, and The New Yorker. Now he's taking a pretty stab at the classics, with three new book covers for three classic works: Pride and Prejudice, Wuthering Heights, and The Scarlet Letter. We're especially loving the old-fashioned Victorian beauty of Bronte's heroine Catherine, as well as the lanky, tall, and handsome cartoon portrayal of every girl's dream guy, Mr. Darcy. The books will come out just in time for New York Fashion Week, which means you can look both smart and stylish toting your copy front row. Who knew reading could be so chic?
