8 Must-Have Pieces For A Cozy Fall

August is a turning point. It might still be peak summer, but all the summer Fridays in the world are not enough to keep our fall fantasies at bay. We dream in deep hues of red, orange, and blue. Organizing suddenly sounds like less of a chore and more of a goal. And we're looking around our apartment for something to do, to change, and to add.

Rebecca Atwood knows our struggle. The Brooklyn-based designer has been thinking about fall for months, preparing her own line as well as her collection of seasonal soaps with method. Ahead, she's rounded up eight easy and affordable home finds — both from her own collections and beyond — and tells us why she loves each piece. They allow us to be excited for fall without taking a drop of summer for granted. And isn't that what August is all about?

"Bringing in a few darker elements, even if they're small, can create contrast and start to shift the mood slowly from summer to fall. Take this mini bowl for example. Place it on your nightstand to hold jewelry, or use it during meals to hold fresh herbs, salt, or nuts. I love how the gold marks bring out the richness of the blue and remind me of a starry night."
