Your Favorite Thing About Summer Just Got An R29 Makeover

Feel that heat radiating off of every concrete surface? Smell that unmistakable scent of a neighbor's BBQ in the air? Yep, it's summertime in the city. And while some prefer to escape the sunbaked sidewalks and sweatier-than-ever subways, we personally live for these months. Call us crazy, but there's something wonderfully nostalgia-inducing about seasonal mainstays like fire-hydrant sprinklers, park picnics, and the familiar tune of an approaching ice-cream truck.

So to celebrate the season, we teamed up with Timex and put a fashion-forward R29 spin on — you guessed it — the classic ice-cream truck. Keep an eye (and ear!) out for us on Wednesday, August 19, as we cruise through the city handing out not just free cones but also free watches in perfectly appropriate sherbet hues. Join the fun and track our every move by following #TimexScoops, and be sure to tag your best Instagram shots for a chance to win a $1,500 gift card. After all, if a perfectly paired cone-and-watch combo on an epic summer day doesn't warrant a selfie, we don't know what does.
