Dry-Shampoo Cream Now Exists — & It’s Awesome

You know what the beauty world needs less than another red lipstick? Another dry-shampoo spray. Since this beloved go-to burst onto the scene, store shelves and bathroom counters have been overrun with those bulky aerosol bottles.

Luckily, R+Co hasn't given us another dry-shampoo spray. Instead, the brand has formulated the same oil-absorbing texturizer into a creamy paste that turns to powder the second it hits your strands. (But — unlike powder — it doesn't get all over your black T-shirts.)

You may be asking, How the hell do I apply this stuff? It really couldn't be easier. Scoop up a dime-sized dollop, rub it between your fingertips, and massage it into any greasy areas. It's a more seamless application process than with spray, because you can spot-treat the trouble areas — rather than over-spraying and making the rest of your hair matte or chalky. And the transparent, gray formula doesn't leave any residue, even on brunettes (we tested).

The oil-absorbing ingredient at work is volcanic ash, which is actually an ancient disinfectant. So instead of just covering up oil, you're actually cleaning your scalp. And did we mention the smell? Think clean, freshly washed hair with just a touch of citrus fruit. We even started keeping the jar on our desk to smell it throughout the day — seriously, it's that good.

Apart from sopping up oil, it also works as a texturizer. Either work it between your fingertips and massage it from roots to mid-lengths for mussy, cool-girl fuzz, or scrunch it through the ends of your beachy waves for texture and definition. Pixie-haired gals can even use it as a light-hold pomade, without the waxy residue of most other pastes.

If you've got major DSSF (that's dry-shampoo-spray fatigue), R+Co just answered your hair prayers. Now, what are you going to do with all that free counter space?
