Meet The Earth Scientist Who's A Model & Designer, Too

There are many models who can count themselves as a slashie — for instance model/singer, model/actress, or model/DJ. But our favorite example is always a model who uses her influence to do something positive for the world at large. And at the top of our list for Captain Planet? That would be model/environmental scientist Laura Wells.

Besides her work with Greenpeace and the Boomerang Alliance, the Aussie stunner has just released an eco-friendly swim collection for Swim Sexy, Swimsuits For All's  trend-driven swim range, launching just in time for Earth Day. Comprised of four ocean-inspired designs, the eco-conscious, curvy line is the first of its kind, offering a size range from 10-24. Also, all of the swimsuits are made from Recotex, a 100% recycled yarn that reuses spandex and polyester, and are seawater- and chlorine-tested.

But, Wells didn't focus only on the granola-crunchy appeal; all of the suits are bright, sexy, and come in flattering shapes. With edgy aspects like mesh inserts, zippers, and plunging v-necklines, as well as prints that will inspire you to book a getaway ASAP, they have way more going for them than just eco-friendly material.

Since we already suspect this collection will make a splash, we had to find out more about the model scientist and her revolutionary line.
