M.I.A., Solange, And More Join R. Kelly And Björk At Pitchfork

UPDATE: The final lineup has been announced and it's a doozy. Among those joining already announced headliners Björk and R. Kelly, is Sri Lankan instigator M.I.A., R29 favorite Solange, and internet rap weirdo Lil B. The final list is as follows:
M.I.A., Lil B, Solange, Wire, Yo La Tengo, Low, Savages, Toro Y Moi, Phosphorescent, Metz, Autre Ne Veut, Mikal Cronin, Parquet Courts, Merchandise, Woods, Julia Holter, Glass Candy, Andy Stott, Pissed Jeans, Frankie Rose, Ryan Hemsworth, Waxahatchee, Blood Orange, Daughn Gibson, Evian Christ, White Lung, KEN mode, DJ Rashad, R. Kelly, Björk, Belle & Sebastian, Joanna Newsom, the Breeders (playing Last Splash), Swans, Rustie, El-P, Chairlift, Killer Mike, TNGHT, Sky Ferreira, ...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead, Mac DeMarco, Foxygen, Angel Olsen, Trash Talk, and Tree.
While the Coachella lineup may have millennials scratching their heads about The Stone Roses, Pitchfork Music Festival is just beginning to roll out the deets about its own annual festival this summer in Chicago's Union Park.
The first official announcement has Björk, Belle & Sebastian, and, yes, R. Kelly(!) as headliners — which, if you ask us, is just about as inspired a lineup as they could have possibly have managed. Tickets for the festival, which takes place Friday, July 19 to Sunday, July 21, are available now at the ridiculously reasonable price of $120 for three-day passes and $50 for single-day tickets.
So, what do you think? How does Pitchfork compare to Coachella? Will you be making your way to the Windy City this summer?
