The Most Popular July 4 Anthems By State

Feeling patriotic, are you? Well, believe it or not, yankee doodle darling, just how patriotic you are may depend on where you live.
According to data pulled last Independence Day, some U.S. states stream flag-waving songs more than others (and by flag-waving songs, we're talking about tracks that appear in the myriad of July 4-themed playlists our listeners have created, as well as songs that simply scream AMERICA IS AWESOME!). Turns out, the District of Columbia (technically not a state, yet still rather significant because it scored very highly) trumps all, followed by Nebraska, Delaware, Louisiana, and Utah. Rounding out the top 10: Arkansas, North Dakota, Missouri, Virginia, and Tennessee.
As for the songs that were the big, fireworks-inducing standouts with Spotify listeners: "God Bless the USA" by Len Greenwood is a favorite in 21 states, straddling both coasts but really ringing through in the Midwest.
New England has a soft spot for Miley Cyrus, with Maine cranking the volume on "Party in the U.S.A.," while New Hampshire fist-pumps to Bruce Springsteen's "Born in the U.S.A." New Yorkers are also rather fond of Bruce, but prefer listening to his 1973-penned "4th of July, Asbury Park" while flipping burgers on the 'cue. Surf's up in gorgeous Hawaii, where the Beach Boys ride high on July 4 with their infectious classic, "Surfin' U.S.A."
And, get ready to cover your ears if you're offended by salty language: "America, F**k Yeah" from the Team America: World Police soundtrack is a winner in California, New Jersey, and Florida.
