Oscar De La Renta Was Not A Fan Of MObama's Alexander McQueen Dress

You're never too old to stop throwing hissy fits. Apparently, not everyone was in love with Michelle Obama's decision to wear the Alexander McQueen dress to the state dinner for Hu Jintao. Big crybaby Oscar de la Renta said to WWD, "My understanding is that the visit was to promote American-Chinese trade—American products in China and Chinese products in America. Why do you wear European clothes?" Because, Oscar, it was beautiful and lovely and its design was perfectly appropriate for a US-Chinese state dinner. Besides, we'd be impressed if Hu Jintao knew the difference between an Alexander McQueen and an Alexander Wang, but we're doubtful that'd be the case. Somebody call the wah-mbulance! (WWD)
