For a laid-back, cozy dinner party, this Lower East Side restaurant is a hidden gem. Thank you, Fiona Byrne, for introducing it to us! The best part? You can rock your go-to summer overalls and your Converse kicks here.
The Leadbelly, 14 Orchard Street; 646-596-9142.
This one is no secret to the city’s food lovers, but there’s a reason for that. Star chef/restaurateur John DeLucie, formerly of the Waverly Inn, can dish up a mean chicken potpie and we won’t even start talking about that juicy burger.
The Lion, 62 W. Ninth Street; 212-353-8400.
You are going to have to dish out the dough for Crown Restaurant, DeLucie’s dimly lit, Upper East Side boîte, but you won’t be disappointed. Crown has hosted some of the city’s most buzzy private events, including the after-party for the Met Gala and a dinner celebrating Ferragamo’s Resort show.
Crown, 24 E. 81st Street; 646-559-4880.
This buzzy new West Village restaurant and private club, in the former home of Le Griffou, serves up tasty market-driven American fare by Chef Kenny Cuomo (Blue Hill and Per Se). Omar’s has already played host to the likes of Christopher Kane, Jason Wu, and Net-A-Porter’s Natalie Massenet. You might want to book that dinner party you were planning right now.
