If anything heralds springtime in NYC, it's not a groundhog. Instead, we know it's officially time to retire that oversized wool cardigan once the annual New Yorkers For Children "A Fool's Fête," rolls around. And you best believe all the party-goers got the memo—the Mandarin Oriental ballroom was jam-packed last night with lots of toned, bare arms, and floor-sweeping gowns that weighed a good two pounds lighter than their pre-April cousins. The event benefits youth in foster care in New York City, a cause clearly (and rightfully) near and dear to the swarm of supermodels that we could always see peeking out behind the giant vases of cherry blossoms.

Excuse us if we felt we needed a little extra built-in Photoshop, but hello, look at the guest list. Coco Rocha, Jessica White (our charming dinner companion at Diane von Furstenberg's table), Erin Heatherton, Selita Ebanks, Doutzen Kroes...the list of glossy girls just didn't quit. And then there was Crystal Renn — every eye in the room was drawn to the ultimate poser (the good kind). She's a blonde now, if you haven't heard... a major blonde! After the main courses were cleared, the models and civilians ignored dessert to hit the dance floor and fling their limbs to really welcome spring. Although, shh, did we see Doutzen and Erin sneak in some Shake Shack? Since it was a week night, sadly we didn't exactly have the time to boogie down and burn off the cals from those cheese fries.

Maybe it’s the memories of back-to-school reading lists, or the coziness of couches in cooling weather, or how a steaming mug of cider just calls for a novel to join it, but autumn weather always seems to demand new reading material. read
