Tiny apartments require more than just clever use of space. You need a thoughtful strategy. Which is why we tapped New Minimalism to help with the problem. While it may be overwhelming even thinking about purging your stuff, there's a certain science behind how to get your pad streamlined. And, the women behind the S.F.-based site are total pros when it comes to the task.

Founders Kyle Quilici and Cary Fortin are a dedicated duo with backgrounds in psychology and interior design, respectively. The two joined forces in 2013 after meeting on a yoga retreat and realizing they shared a passion for home organization. Their business focuses on coming into people's homes, rearranging, and helping the clients toss any unneeded items aside with a kind, understanding approach — resulting in a stunning, clutter-free space.

We sneaked in on a session with New Minimalism and local DJ Mozhgan to learn the tricks of the trade and score ideas for our own home. Ready to take notes? Out with the old, in with the new!
