"I have tried so many edge-control pastes, but this is my all-time favorite. It really slicks down my edges, without leaving any greasy residue. It's also water-based and works well with wash-and-gos. I find that it gives my curls even more definition."

"This stuff right here is amazing! It's lightweight, and the ingredients are very nourishing for your hair. I love that it has peppermint oil and Jamaican black-castor oil, which are great aides for hair growth."

"This cream is everything! I have really dry hair — especially being that it's color-treated — and it makes my hair so soft! It's a blend of natural oils and essential oils, which smell so good. This product is amazing for twist-outs and braid-outs, especially."

"This product serves a dual purpose: as a clay mask for hair, but also as a facial mask. It has detoxing properties and the ability to pull dirt and oil off your hair and skin. I like to use it combined with pure aloe vera juice, and [this resets] my scalp — it pulls all the dirt and impurities."

"Elucence Volume Clarifying Shampoo is a must-have for me and a staple in my hair routine. It clarifies my hair — removing any product or buildup, like mineral deposits from my hard water — while exfoliating my scalp, which promotes healthy growth of new hair and leaves it full of volume."

"Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar is something I've been using for years to clarify my hair. I mix it with water to make a hair rinse, and it never fails to give my hair a lot of volume and shine. It's also a must after using my shampoo bars!"

"Aloe Juice is always my hair and scalp's best friend. It acts as a sealant and adds moisture to my hair and scalp. I always use this throughout the week, especially if my scalp and strands are feeling dry."

"The smell alone sold this conditioner for me. But most importantly, I love how easily it melts my knots and tangles, and how buttery-soft my hair feels afterward. The manuka honey and mafura oil leave you with incredible shine, too. Another plus is how easily accessible it is, sold at Target, CVS, and Walgreens."

"After using the conditioner, I love to follow up with the deep-treatment. The two make the ultimate tag-team for some serious curl hydration. My scalp tends to get really dry and itchy, but I haven’t had any issues whatsoever since using this line of products."

"I love wearing hats, but it can be hard rocking them over my curls. Braid-outs and twist-outs help me pull off those cute looks. And this butter is perfection for making it happen. Your curls get a nice, smooth, and shiny stretch."

"I’m obsessed with the fresh lemongrass scent. So perfect for these warmer temps. The spray is really light but effective, so I tend to carry it around in my bag when my hair needs a quick and moisturizing pick-me-up. The perfect product for really active naturals on the go."

"The slip and detangling power of this product are unmatched. Many have tried, but none have come close. It's a multipurpose product that can be used to detangle or as a leave-in conditioner, so you get double the bang for your buck with this one."

"YES for super-slippery, never-have-a-tangle daily conditioners! Once, I just shampooed and conditioned with this and didn't do anything else. My hair was light, soft, and perfect. That is what really happened. I didn't even apply a leave-in. No gel. No hairspray. No butters. No oil. Just this conditioner. I went out into the world and conquered."

"Shampoo is one of those scary products for curly girls, and this one is paraben-, protein-, silicone-, sulfate-, and glycerin-free. It cleanses my hair without stripping it dry and makes my scalp feel free. Plus, the tea-tree tingle — I am a sucker for a tingle and a clean feel!"

"I was really apprehensive about using this brown liquid, and I didn't think it would be a winner — but I was wrong! My hair always feels clean, and it has a shine to it that I have never seen with other shampoos. It lathers well, contains ACV, and you get a lot for the amount you pay."

"The compliments are non-stop when I use this sealer. People are always asking what I used to make my hair smell so good. The smell is just what you think — burnt sugar. And it's EVERYTHING. Besides the amazing smell, this product locks in moisture, and adds shine and hold."

"This curl cream is similar to another one of my favorites — the Tigi Catwalk Curlesque Curls Rock Amplifier — but with a little less hold and a lower price tag! This cream helps my curls clump, and clumping is good — plus, it feels soft and not crunchy which is the ultimate test for stylers."

"In my world, coconut oil rules the school! Coconut oil is high in lauric acid. One of the main reasons for hair loss, besides genetics and age, is because of microbial action on the scalp and hair roots. Hair can be the dirtiest because it is exposed to the elements on a daily basis, and therefore attracts dust and microbes... Dust works as a breeding ground for microbes, dust mites, and fungus, and they work over time to weaken your hair roots, which leads to hair loss. So, to protect hair against them, we need an antimicrobial agent to destroy them, which is lauric acid. Coconut oil is also rich in fats that are attracted to hair proteins, which means it is one of the few natural oils that can actually penetrate the hair shaft like water."

"Nothing beats products that are truly all-natural, and this elixir is no exception. Made from a concoction of different oils — like sea kelp, argon, carrot, and honeysuckle — my strands are coated, [which helps] to retain moisture without the weighed-down feeling."

"I mostly co-wash, but when I do use a shampoo I hands-down prefer this product. Not only is it 100% all-natural, this soap is designed for a plethora of uses (even brushing your teeth, [though], to be honest, [I] haven't tested those waters). But most importantly, it doesn't strip my hair of its sebum (the natural oils that lubricate your strands), which is the cause for the very drying effect most shampoos have on my delicate strands."

"This is a great, inexpensive conditioner with lots of slip, so it's perfect if you like to detangle your hair in the shower. It also contains peppermint and eucalyptus, which are great for stimulating hair growth."

"I alternate between the Trader Joe's tea-tree [conditioner] and this [one]. I love it because it's so inexpensive, and instantly gives my hair moisture and softness."

"This deep-conditioner is on the pricey side...I use this as an intensive treatment when my curls are fried and dried, and need to be brought back to life. The argan oil will help restore and heal damaged, unruly hair."

"This lightweight formula is also on the pricey side, but I love using it whenever I want to achieve a soft, voluminous look. It gives my curls a moisturized, less defined look, and it smells like Skittles."

"Speaking of detangling, it took me forever to find a brush that can help me handle my tangles and knots [and] that could also minimize the amount of hair I pulled out in the process. This brush makes it easy for thick, natural, curly hair like mine."
