Move Over FNO: Prince Charles' National Wool Week Kicks Off In London

Dreamed up by Prince Charles, National Wool Week is part of a five-year initiative to ballyhoo about the value of this versatile fiber, which has been the staple of some of England's most infamous designers and brands. Prices for the fiber has been in decline over the past decade, but this week is meant to drum up support and interest in the wool with events (like the yellow sheep outside Selfridges), sales, and promotions from over 80 retailers including Burberry, Pringle, and Penfield. Sound familiar? It's a mystery whether Fashion's Night Out—the global shopping event helmed by Anna Wintour—has sufficiently stoked the retail fires, but it's an interesting model to follow.
