If Your Mom's The Earthy Type...
Head all the way west to the beachside Outer Sunset 'hood. It's there that you'll find a host of cool stores (check out our guide to the hot area here) and one of our hands-down fave eateries in the city, Outerlands. Stuff yourself with an open-faced egg sandwich and work it all off with a walk to the beach afterwards.
Outerlands, 4001 Judah Street (at 45th Avenue); 415-661-6140.

Clockwise from top left: Pixie Market Blue and Grey Colorblock Dress, $72, available at Pixie Market; Dannijo Andi Bracelet, $220, available at Dannijo; Mayfourteenth Rose Shades, $200, available at Mayfourteenth; Apolis x Unionmade San Francisco Market Bag, $68, available at Unionmade; Swedish Hasbeens Bold Endeavors Heel in Gain, $249.99, available at ModCloth.

If Your Mom's The Cool Type...
So, your mom isn't a regular mom — she's a cool mom. And if mama digs an eatery with a hip vibe and finger-lickin' eats, this is the place. We recommend grabbing her and high-tailing to Beretta. This Mission-based Italian spot has a pretty sweet brunch, so you two can bond over a few mimosas and hearty dishes like polenta and gnocchi. It has an airy patio, so you can sit and soak up the sun while you chow down.
Beretta, 1199 Valencia St (between 22nd and 23rd Streets); 415-695-1199.

Clockwise from top left: Steven Alan Wide Brim Hat, $150, available at Steven Alan; Rachel Comey Rusk Dress, $656, available at La Garconne; Butter London Nail Lacquer in Bumster, $14, available at Zappos; Wren x Clare Vivier Reversible Totes, $350, available at Clare Vivier; Qupid Strip-27 Flats, $29.99, available at DSW.
