Time's 100 Most Influential List Is Pretty Darn Good
One of the reasons that Time magazine's most influential issue is a tome we look forward to each year is because it's a chance to see familiar faces — Jay-Z, Jennifer Lawrence, Jimmy Fallon — next to international activists. This year, the pairings of influencers and "writers," who just happens… Read More

The best way to put D.C. on the style radar, even in the midst of Fashion Week buzz? That's easy: Just send a Vogue camera crew into the White House. An Ode To MObama's Most Amazing Facial Expressions
Confession: We've never been great at concealing our emotions. Clearly, then, we feel a special kinship to the first lady, who can express her innermost thoughts… Read More

And The First Lady Wore...Jason Wu (Again!)
Finally, after days of speculation, we know the first lady's gown of choice for her second inaugural ball — another Jason Wu confection, this time in cherry-red velvet and chiffon. 2013 Inauguration: What You Need To Know So Far
The first lady's Thom Browne coat for today's festivities is pretty awesome (and inspired by a men's tie). (Buzzfeed)

We Called It: Michelle Obama Sported Michael Kors Last Night
Remember our lil' predictions about MObama's inaugural outfits? We'd just like to take a moment and pat ourselves on the back for totally calling it: At last night's reception at the National Building Museum, the first lady re-wore a black sequin Michael Kors shift that she sported back in 2009. Mrs… Read More

Remember The Obama Girls' First Inauguration? Oh, How They've Grown
It seems like the 2009 presidential inauguration just happened, but there's nothing like pics from this weekend's inaugural festivities to prove how much time has truly flown by. Because kids grow up so fast these days.
Four years ago, we remember Malia looking regal in her cobalt blue coat and Sasha looking all kinds of color-blocked adorable in a palette of bright pink and orange. But earlier today, at President Obama's swearing-in ceremony at the White House, the girls proved that their tastes have matured over the course of his first term, sporting grown-up dresses and 'dos.
But thankfully, some things do stay the same, and girls retained a few signature touches — a bold blue pleated H&M frock for Malia, and a splash of punchy lilac with a quirky textured belt for Sasha. And naturally, MObama was rocking her now-famous fringe, along with a beautiful blue Reed Krakoff number. All we can say is congrats, First Daughters, on staying true to yourselves. (Oh, and can we have your castoffs?)

Discuss: Are Inaugural Dress Designers Actually Cursed?
When an under-the-radar designer wins the inaugural-gown lottery, it probably feels a bit like the sky opening up — there's instant fame, publicity, global attention, and a spot in the National Museum of American History. But for nearly every designer, the inaugural dress has meant their downfall… Read More
