Marc Jacobs' Husband Lorenzo Martone Launches A Line Of Swimwear

Marc Jacobs hubby and talent exec Lorenzo Martone has just launched Nycked, a new swimwear line that's made for hot girls in the City. Created with jewelry designer Jules Kim, the collection will include twenty suits and is designed to be the antidote to the palm-printed, cheerful florals that usually comprises the swimwear scene. According to Lorenzo, "swim seems to be dominated by an L.A. aesthetic, and our collection brings a New York attitude to it." What makes it New York? Big bows that looks like it was made of discarded trash bags; a silver, textured bikini with some serious padding; and a swimsuit with an un-done bow-tie neckline that we feel like Tim Gunn might deem a "first-year fashion school project." Creative? Not exactly. Would we NY girls wear them? Pass us our florals, please. Though not offensively bad, we hope that Lorenzo and Jules stick to their day jobs. (WWD)
