Christian Louboutin's biggest contribution to the shoe world seems to be the red sole, but the man claims that he also gave birth to the Chanel quilted ballet flat, during his brief stint working there in the beginning of his career. "Everyone thinks it's part of Coco's DNA, […] but it hadn't been done before I got there."
The Cambon flat uses Chanel's quilted leather and is very much in line with Coco's elegant-yet-practical design ethos, but perhaps Louboutin does deserve props for shoe. Anyone who can craft a legend out of a used bottle of nail polish could probably do something pretty phenomenal in Chanel's workshop. (Telegraph via Fashionologie)
