Space Invaders! Peep This Google Gal’s Enviable Bedroom

The interiors geek in us always fancies space-spanning snaps. But (call us nosy) sometimes overview shots just won’t suffice, and we really crave the nitty-gritty pics deep inside the nooks and crannies of an abode. This is especially true when it comes to one's most personal space: the bedroom. And that's why we're on a mission to scope out the best bunks in the Bay, starting with Google gal and style blogger extraordinaire, Krystal Bick.
Let’s just say the chic gal's stylish Hayes Valley sanctuary left us nothing short of inspired. While ogling her enviable shoe and record collection and taking in her sweet, sweeping S.F. views, we determined one thing for sure: Bick's bedroom ranks high on our lust list. Click through and see the tomes, knickknacks, and so much more that make this blogging babe tick.

Tell us a little bit about your space.
"My apartment is a corner studio of one of the oldest buildings on the block and I love all of its character! When I started decorating, I knew I wanted to stay true to some of the Art Deco charm, but fuse modern elements into the mix. It's still a work in progress, but I like letting the room take a shape of its own."

Krystal sports a cheery Stella McCartney skirt, Equipment blouse, Christian Louboutin heels, Gorjana necklace, and Michael Kors watch.

What is your fave part of your room and why?
"I used to say my closet. It actually was the selling point in inking the lease. I never had a true walk-in closet before. But, lately, I'd say the shelves that line each side of my bay windows are becoming a fast favorite. I love rearranging new book additions, flowers, and shoes. It's like an ever-evolving art piece!"

How would you describe your interior design sense?
"If I had to sum it up in a few words I'd call it 'eclectic-chic.' This is just a prettier way of admitting I arrange all my favorite collectables, oddities, and shoes around the room — so I can see them at all times."

Do you have any items that have a funny or memorable story?
"Oddly enough, I love this mini piñata that stands guard on one of my shelves. I scooped him up at a recent work party and have dubbed him my unofficial roommate. We still have to discuss splitting rent."

Best cheap score as of late?
"I'd been craving some white heels and happily scooped up a J.W. Anderson for Aldo pair. They've been great for topping off all-white ensembles, but can just as easily work with boyfriend jeans."

All smiles!

Where do you find your decorating inspiration?
"All over really — blogs, Pinterest, design books, and flea markets. Lately, I've been taking notes from window displays like Barneys and Anthropologie."

Picture perfect.

Where do you shop for interior goodies?
"A lot of my favorite pieces are the fruits of scouring flea markets, but I love ducking into Room Service on Hayes, Past Perfect on Lombard, and my new favorite, A&G Merch on Market.

Your closet is so enviable. What are your wardrobe loves?
"One of my first shopping excursions in Hayes Valley led me to my now-favorite vintage shop in the city — Ver Unica. I walked in needing a dress to wear to an upcoming wedding and walked out with this ‘40s silk kimono. Don't you just love when that happens?"

Your shoe collection is out of control! Do you have a prized pair?
"The true pièce de résistance of the collection has to be my glittery Miu Miu heels. They're so Dorothy-does-Vegas. What's not to love?"

What's your philosophy when it comes to accessorizing?
"What I've discovered lately is that I gravitate toward cleaner, classic accessories. I let the shoes or a piece in the outfit take center stage. This may change a few months from now, but I'll admit I really like the subtle impact it has on an ensemble."

Who do you look up to in the home-interior space?
"Kelly Wearstler has an undeniable, trained eye for blending whimsical and bohemian influences. Plus, it doesn't hurt that I love her clothing designs, too."

What pieces in your closet get the most milage?
"Those who know me are aware that I have an unhealthy obsession with Equipment blouses. I'm a sucker for mixing and matching them with pencil skirts for work and with boyfriend jeans or cutoffs for the weekend."

Name a few of your style icons.
"Hands down — Taylor Tomasi Hill and Miroslava Duma. Both ladies never fail to deliver enviable accessories and amazing sculptural pieces. What I wouldn't give to raid their closets!"

What do you dig most about living in your ‘hood?
"I love that I can walk in either direction on Hayes and end up in completely different pockets. I can head up to Alamo Square or the Panhandle for a lazy afternoon of reading or I could be shopping around in some of my favorite interior-decor shops and boutiques. Oh, and I'm pretty smitten with Smitten Ice Cream."
