The Kids' Beauty Products We'll Never Outgrow

Everyone has their staple items — from their wardrobes to their vanities — and we're discovering that some of our beauty basics have been necessities since birth...literally. It's been decades since we rocked the cradle (though we've admittedly rocked a onesie much more recently than that), but the products we've loved since infancy will never go out of style.
Whether it's the shampoo our moms used on us in our first weeks of life or the nail polish we used to paint our tips and our notebooks with, check out the beauty staples that will always give us that youthful glow, no matter how many candles we have on our birthday cake.
What kids' products are still a part of your beauty routine?

We're of the school of thought that skin should be a priority regardless of age. And it just so happens that some of the best sunscreens on the market are actually made for tots! Neutrogena's goes on without the slimy feel of most sunblock, and is also available in a stick — perfect for ears and lips.

This alcohol-free scent is actually for infants, but trust — the fragrance is so fresh and so clean, you'll want your own bottle. It smells great on everyone and everything, from sheets to hair to sunkissed skin, and it won't overwhelm you like some grown-up perfumes. For reals, we can't get enough.

Mustela Musti Eau de Soin, $29, available at Sephora.

What's not to love about Hard Candy? Pairing a kitschy gummy ring with a bottle of polish is nothing short of genius, and the colors are just as cool now as they were back in middle school. Bonus: The shades are often inspired by hues found on the catwalk.

Hard Candy Just Nails Nail Color, $4, available at Walmart.

While moms use this organic balm stick to moisturize little nosies and toesies, we've found tons of other reasons to keep it around. We stash one in our purse to combat dry elbows, knees, lips, and cuticles — and to tame flyaways.

Butt Naked Baby Shea Stick, $9, available at Jack Be Natural.

We can't wait for shorts season, if only to slather this bad gal on. The tinted body lotion's formula dries quickly, so we won't stain our summer whites, and it contains a subtle shimmer in addition to SPF 15, tripling our poolside glam factor. It may be aimed at the Twilight set, but they'll have to fight us for it — this baby is pretty much everything a great lotion should be, and then some.

Willa Born To Glow Natural SPF Daily Tinted Shimmer Body Lotion, $12.50, available at Willa Skincare.

Sometimes, you just really want to be a princess. We get it. Life is hard. But Pixi makes things a little easier with this Tinkerbell-themed collection, allowing you to fulfill your lifelong fantasies of being a fairy queen (but without looking like a toddler playing with makeup). The colors are delicate and multi-faceted — just like you. See what happens when you wish upon a star?

Pixi Glow Collection, $8 - $34, available at Target.

Even though we've been washing our own hair for a few decades now, we couldn't help but hold on to this shampoo — it's super gentle, and leaves our hair tangle-free. We also use it to wash our makeup brushes!

Johnson's Baby No More Tears Shampoo, Original Formula, $5.49, available at .

This room fragrance may have babies on the brain ("bimbi" is Italian for baby), but you'll find yourself stocking up, whether you're sticking it in a nursery or not. Hey, who says you can't just like rubber duckies and the smell of lavender?

Alora Ambiance Bimbi Reed Diffuser, $70, available at Barneys.

We've been using Lip Smackers since we were old enough to beg for them, and Bonne Bell, we just can't quit you. These babies smell so tasty, give off just the right amount of tint and shine, and fit in any size purse — no matter how tiny. Who doesn't love these balms? (We end up "losing" a fair amount of these, only to discover them stashed in our boyfriends' back pockets.)

Whenever we see baby oil, it takes us back to our early teens when we were just learning how to shave. We were stealth shavers (a.k.a. our moms thought we were too young to be shaving our legs, so we had to do it on the DL) and found that baby oil was the perfect shaving cream substitute. Not only does it give you the slip you need to ensure your razor glides smoothly over your skin, it also gives legs a shot of lightweight moisture and a seriously enviable shine, something we can still appreciate even after all these years.

Burt's Bees Nourishing Baby Oil, $7.99, available at
