No doubt you’re familiar with the all-white look. It’s been all over the runways, your Instagram feed, and even our site. But, have you tried it for yourself?
We understand if you’re feeling a bit weary of this trend. Aside from the fact that it isn’t always the most flattering colour, an all-white outfit is basically a disaster waiting to happen — especially if you’re like us and have more than your fair share of klutzy moments. Still, it’s a look that's too good to be missed, and thanks to a fresh batch of ideas from Fashion Month, we’ve never felt more inspired.
Ahead, our seven favourite all-white looks, with smart tips on how to pull them off. Maybe just don’t order spaghetti with red sauce that day.

Dungarees Make Everything Better
Feeling clueless about this all-white thing? Start with a pair of dungarees in a fit you like (boyfriend, straight leg, oversized — your call), add one of your favourite white tops (a T-shirt will work as well as a button-up), and boom: You’re rocking one of the biggest trends of the season. Bonus: Focus on layering different textures for an expert-level look.

Go Pro(fessional) in a Shirtdress
A perfectly tailored piece makes it easy to pull off this trend. A crisp, clean shirtdress can do no wrong, and it works just as well at work as it does with flats or trainers for the weekend.

Keep It Simple
There's no reason to overcomplicate this sleek look. Pair a classic crewneck top with fitted trousers, shorts, or a skirt and some white brogues. This is effortless perfection.

Add An Accent Colour
Having trouble focusing on just one hue? Balance your look with a subdued accent colour. Find a piece with design details that bring another shade into the picture, but make sure you don't let it steal the show. Magnifique.

Make It Masculine
Sure, white might be most often associated with innocence and purity, but depending on how you wear it, you can look downright boyish. Throw on a pair of slouchy white shorts with your favourite band tee for a light and airy look that's got a great casual vibe.

Know Your Geometry
When it comes to wearing all white (or all any colour, mind you), proportion is everything. Focus on boxy, geometric shapes for a super of-the-moment look. Channel Gareth Pugh’s oversized jacket and skinny-trouser proportions, but take it down a notch with a cropped, boxy jacket that you’ll wear on a near-daily basis.

Layer Your Shades
Pros know that going monochrome doesn’t have to be taken literally. Mixing your eggshells with your mother-of-pearl? That still counts as all white. If you go this route, just be sure to keep the overall look simple — you want the focus to be on the slight variance in shades, not the fact that you’re a slave to trends.
