Check Out These 4 Pro Makeup Tips For Getting On-Point Wedding Makeup

Summer lovin’ and weddings are in high season—and it can be a whirlwind. Between figuring out the perfect dress and who to bring as your date, the one thing you shouldn’t be sweating is your makeup. The best bet is to keep it simple with a fuss-free look and an arsenal of budge-proof makeup. To help you out, we turned to two bridal beauty experts Lauren Iavarone, owner of Expert Makeup Artistry, and Linsey Snyder Wachalter, founder Face Time Beauty Concierge, for their favorite essentials to keep you looking fabulous—from the nuptials to the late-night post-wedding soirée. Oh yes, and how to avoid a lash-catastrophe on the dance floor!

Avoid a Makeup Meltdown—Wachalter suggests keeping makeup “on top of the eye” to prevent melting or running makeup. Instead of false lashes (Both Wachalter and Iavarone have both seen lash mishaps on the dance floor!), try using a great waterproof mascara on top lashes only. “Always go waterproof,” says Iavarone. “Even if you don’t think you're going cry!” Keep Q-tips handy in your clutch for a precise clean-up since tissues can cause additional smudging.

Linsey’s Pick: CoverGirl LashBlast Waterproof Mascara, $5.49, available at Target.

Lauren’s Pick: Maybelline New York Lash Stiletto Ultimate Length Mascara, $5.99, available at Drugstore.com.

Have Your Cake and Eat It Too—We're all for sipping Champagne and sampling the cake, but reapplying your lip color can be a pain. The fix? Replace sticky, glossy lips with a stay-put lipstick or a lip-stain. “Lip-stains are perfect when you do not want to have to touch up and fuss,” says Iavarone. “Lip-stains are even more ideal if you want a juicy pout.”

Linsey’s Pick: Three Custom Color Specialists Lip & Cheek Stain in Ski Bunny, $22.50, available at Three Custom Color Specialists.

Lauren’s Pick: MAC Pro Longwear Lipcolour in Night Rose, $22, available at MAC.

Go For Shine-Stopping Solutions—Excessive summertime heat and a steamy dance-floor can leave you looking, well, less than your best. Fight extra shine with an oil-control powder applied all over your face. “I always suggest brushing powder on rather than stippling with a sponge to make sure you are not wiping your makeup off,” says Iavarone. In between songs, spritz yourself with Evian’s Mineral Spray Duo To Go to keep cool and refresh your makeup.

Lindsey’s Pick: Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder, $30, available at Sephora.

Lauren’s Pick: MAC Blot Powder, $23, available at MAC.

Ensure A Stay-Put Look—Between Wachalter and Iavarone hundreds of brides (and guests) have made it through their wedding happily ever after. They both suggest keeping your makeup in check with primers and setting spray for a look that lasts but doesn’t look caked on.

Lindsey’s Pick: "I use this on all my clients to keep their makeup lasting. It works extremely well.”
Urban Decay All Nighter Long Lasting Makeup Setting Spray, $29, available at Sephora.

Lauren’s Pick: “I use this on every client that sits in my chair and they all say they can not believe their shadow lasted until the morning!”
Too Faced Shadow Insurance, $18, available at Sephora.
