Here's What Your Love Life Looks Like This Month

Be still thy beating heart! September is off to an auspicious start as cosmic lovebirds Venus and Mars make an exact connection on the 1st. What we want and need becomes even clearer after the 6th, when Venus snaps out of a five-week retrograde. Keep it PG though, people. Stern Saturn trudges through sexy Scorpio until the 17th, putting our naughtier natures on ice. With two eclipses this September — on the 13th and 27th — there will be lots of surprises in store. Secret crushes may be revealed, and our own hidden desires will come to light. Romance gets epic on the 23rd, when the sun heads into Libra for a month. Bring on the red roses, promise rings, and teary-eyed declarations of love. But, make sure you’re sure before you get down on bended knee or fire off a sexy Snapchat, because Mercury is retrograde from September 17 until October 9, causing signals to scramble.

Gemini Love Forecast

Keep things breezy in the first half of September, dating casually or enlisting your sweetie in playful activities. On the 17th, stoic Saturn hunkers down in your relationship house for two years. Kind of heavy? Yes, but your attention turns to creating a lasting, supportive partnership. As the zodiac’s twin, you thrive when you have a second mate by your side.

Free up some space for your soulmate — whether they’re in the picture yet or not. On the 13th, a solar eclipse might see you shopping for a little love shack or leaving a few extra hangers in your closet. Just starting your search? The sun blazes through your romance house from the 23rd on, assisting with your recruiting process. Coupled Geminis could plan a wedding or start talking babies. But, with Mercury retrograde from September 17 to October 9, wait a month before picking a date or venue. Mercury’s backspin could rile drama or bring back an old flame. If you reopen that door, proceed with caution.

Your Beauty Forecast: Lavish Lavender
To get the look, blend a dime-sized amount of liquid luminizer with your foundation before applying. Spot treat as needed with concealer, and prep your eyelids with just a bit of foundation to neutralize any uneven tone. Using a small, domed brush, dust a shimmery lavender shadow all over your lids, intensifying it in the creases. Glide it along your lower lashlines, too, for an overall wash of color. Next, add a light coat of mascara for defined lashes that look fluttery and natural. Add soft contouring, using nude blush to sculpt just under your cheekbones. Then, sweep a peach-toned highlighter atop your cheekbones, down the bridge of your nose, and above your Cupid's bow. Finish with a swipe of neutral-colored lip balm.

To get the nails, start by applying a basecoat or use a two-in-one nail color that contains one. Then, place strips of tape diagonally across your tips so they come to a point. Paint the exposed part of your nails with a nude polish. Once dry, peel off the tape, and paint the remaining part of your nails a deep purple. Finish with a glossy layer of topcoat.
