Decadent holiday feasts are a grand American tradition, and one we look forward to with both delight and trepidation. Just thinking about the amount of eating we'll be doing in the upcoming months is enough to make us queasy. While they can't help you battle holiday weight gain, the fragrance vanguards of Thierry Mugler have found one unique way for you to indulge in sumptuous treats without messing with your diet.
The new Thierry Mugler Taste of Fragrance collection was created in collaboration with the brand's olfactory artistic director (we want that job title!), Pierre Aulas and acclaimed French chef Hélène Darroze. Together, the two re-imagined the notes of four classic Mugler scents —Angel, Alien, Womanity, and A*Men — to give them a haute cuisine spin.
Darroze went one step further and envisioned an entire Muglerian meal based around the new gourmand notes. To go with Angel's bitter cocoa-powder accord, she concocted a main dish of Mexican duck mole. A creamy salted-butter caramel dessert is the perfect companion to Alien's sensual new formula, while Womanity's fig chutney is reborn as an appetizer garnished with a dollop of caviar — a playful throwback to the fragrance's original sweet and savory notes. Finally, A*Men made Darroze think of a starter made with coffee and the scent's spicy, red pepper accord. Who's hungry?
