The NYC Apartment That Proves FiDi Is Hotter Than Ever

Almost as much as we love touring completed client design projects, we love seeing how our Homepolish designers have transformed their own spaces. This week we’re exploring the well-thought out and sophisticated two bedroom apartment of our designer Casey DeBois. Located in New York City's Gehry building in the Financial District, Casey, her husband Ross, and their extremely adorable pup Tuck have been living in the space for about a year.
As it is with all interior designers (as far as we can tell), Casey is constantly changing and rearranging different aspects of her home to suit her whims. We haven’t yet figured out if this is a therapeutic scenario for the design-obsessed or a stress-inducing neurosis, but we’re happy to watch either way. Click through the slideshow to tour Casey’s perfect apartment.

Homepolish interior designers excel at understanding the client’s needs and wants while inflecting their professional expertise. Basically, they curb their own stylistic impulses when designing other people’s homes. So, walking into Casey’s apartment is like walking into her brain. You finally get to see all of her exciting design ideas realized and executed. Casey likes all of her spaces to have their own personalities and purposes. Here, the living/entertainment room and dining area.

Catering to she and Ross’s daily routines and shared lifestyle, Casey focused on making the apartment feel comfortable and sophisticated with practical pieces. A big, deep couch is perfect for when they have friends over for drinks, are watching a movie or Tuck needs a nap.

The dining area has two chairs, but the window ledge lets the couple have more over for dinner. Not to mention, the view of the city from this nook is also an excellent dinner companion.

The foyer was an afternoon project, believe it or not. Casey was bored of the plain white walls and decided to spruce it up with some randomly swiped gold paint. We’re impressed.

The apartment is on a very high floor and Casey wanted to incorporate some of that feeling of height into the bedroom. Muted whites and creams make the room feel airy and cloud-like.
