Pitti Immagine UOMO is hands-down one of the coolest, most bad-ass, and — as the name suggests — imaginative trade shows in the world. Against a backdrop of Firenze, the four-day exhibition showcases exciting, emerging menswear brands, as well as established and heritage names who should be on every dude's wardrobe check-list. This year, the fair brought it hardcore, with special offerings from guest menswear designer Carven, a gorgeous runway by Andrea Pompilo, and rockin' ragers at the DDG (drop-dead-gorgeous) Villa Favard, home to fashion students that are sure to be the next-level new generation.
Perhaps our favorite moment of this year's show was Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos' (the guest womenswear designers) dizzy installation, a collaboration that showcased their resort '13 collections via what was dubbed a "Print Generator," art director Jonny Lu's digital kaleidoscope. Inside a Florentine palazzo, Pilotto and De Vos presented their graphic, geometric patterns against 3D backgrounds that might be the best way to trip this weekend — legally.
