From what we've heard, having a twin means double the wardrobe, double the fun, and if you're lucky, double the creativity. For Lizzie and Kathryn Fortunato, twins, business partners, and founders of Lizzie Fortunato Jewels, this is certainly the case. The duo began their creative journey as a college hobby that quickly made its way onto the runway. Their most recent collaboration with VPL proves that these girls definitely aren't letting their creative genes go to seed anytime soon. Based in Chinatown/L.E.S., the Fortunatos focus on making killer vintage-inspired jewelry out of reclaimed materials. Their fall 2010 collection is clearly no exception—playful names like Sister Morphine and Dinner at Six, channel this year's inspiration—a '60s housewife straight out of Mad Men who gets immaculately accessorized even when washing the dishes. With their global audience growing fast, we thought it was the perfect time to catch up with the girls and try and channel their New York vibe. From their top neighborhood brunch spot to a ridiculously awesome home store, check out their three favorite Lower East Side spots that they can't live without.
