Shop It Now6 Bold Brooches To Cure Your Friendship-Bracelet Fatigue
We never need an excuse to add a bit of bling to our daily duds, but sometimes we tire of weight around our necks, moldy Coachella friendship bracelets, and just can't bring ourselves to don our favorite chandeliers again. Feeling out of options, too?
Enter the brooch. This unexpected sister of the statement necklace is easily forgotten, but shouldn't be! Here's why: Unlike some other jewelry, lapel pins are never out of place. In fact, the less obvious the placement, the fresher they look.
Our styling tips? Cluster three off-center on your chest, use one to cinch that deep V, or be bold and wear one on your shoulder (classic and seriously cool). Nestle one in that lightweight summer scarf when the sun goes down at a backyard Venice BBQ, dress up a trusty cross-body at The Pikey, or accentuate the pocket line on your cutoffs at the Rose Bowl — believe us, the options are endless.
And, apparently, we aren't the only peeps interested in bringing brooches back. Click through for far-out and fab options from all your fave e-tailers and designers! Now how's that for brooching the accessories subject?

Weird Trend We're Digging: Golf-Inspired Shoes

Golf: A sport with unparalleled elegance and unmatched panache. Because sunny SoFla is a default destination for those craving glistening green fields with beaming flags and sand dunes, golfer style is never overtly trendy, but has been appearing in our periphery as of late. Enter le golf-inspired shoe: an oxford-like sole often adorned with tassels and always oozing with refinement.
The golfer brogue is a classic American staple, a signifier of the well-heeled prepster life. Tory Burch has jumped on the bandwagon golf-cart with a colorful pair. But if you really have an inkling for detail, Jack Will’s brogues and F-Troup's golf flats will have you following every delicate curve that ornaments the leather. But no shoe can cause a cart collision such as Hexa by Kuho’s stomping sky high beauties. An odd choice for the green? Yes. But we know your style knows no boundaries.
So what do you think? Are these shoes appropriate for The Masters? Or are they better left behind at the mini course? We’ll let you decide. As for us, we’re grabbing these and swinging for a hole-in-one.
Clockwise from top: F-Troup Golf Flat Shoes, $234, available at ASOS; Tory Burch Ruth Loafer, $227, available at Tory Burch; Hexa by Kuho Fringed Heels With Ankle Strap, $715, available at Opening Ceremony; Jack Wills Glenthorne Brogue, $298, available at Jack Wills.
Inside R29: On The Bright (Bag) Side
Neutrals are nice, but bolds are better — at least so it would seem looking around R29 HQ this week. While our clothing may have played the quiet background, we kept things poppin' in the handbag department. In the raddest reds and sweetest tangerines, we weren't afraid to let our satchels and totes beg for some attention and appropriately mimic the pretty blooms creeping up around NYC (weekend picnic, anyone?!). Peep the heep of brilliant colors that kept smiles on our faces and fresh spring style in the bag.
29 Trends You Need To Try Before You Die
We know plenty of women who defiantly reject for a popular trend ("I know it won't look good on me!" "I can't pull it off!") without at least giving it a test run. Just how do you know you can't wear a bodycon dress if you haven't tried it? What makes you knock a $100 T-shirt if you've never felt the inside of its silky goodness against your skin?
When it comes to fashion, Refinery29 readers will usually try anything once, and we're here to prove it, with our guide to style experiments you need to try. Of course, some trends are more challenging than others, but you ladies should be style pros, so we're rooting for you. Tell us in the comments: How many of these 29 trends have you tried already...and how many left do you have to go?
Inside R29: Calling In All The Troops
We like to keep things in order around here. Our desks are in neat rows, our articles run on schedule, and, yes, sometimes we dress the same, even when we haven't planned it in advance. This week, however, to show off just how organized we are, we formed a small troop of army-jacket donning team members. Maybe we don't do roll calls, and we definitely don't do endurance drills (although, maybe we should?), but we are well-trained for scoping out and reporting on the latest in fashion and beauty — day in and day out. And, sometimes in army jackets. Click ahead to see how our staff played the role of R29 style soldiers in utilitarian jackets that look just as tough as they are totally on-trend.
Inside R29: This Week, Our World Is Flats
We're all about the super-high pumps, and strappy sandals for spring, but as the skirts and dresses get a bit flirtier (read: shorter), flats find their way into our wheelhouse more and more. This week, we noticed everyone squeezing in their closed-toeds for (hopefully) one more walk around the block. From leopard, to lazer-cut, to sweet ballet-inspired, these flats are super versatile and also happen to be super-cute.

Inside R29: It's A Cardi Party!
It's cool. It's balmy. It's windy. It's an oven. This NYC weather can't make up its mind, and therefore, neither can we. As we slide into sleeveless spring territory, our awesome, all-year cardis provide the a comfy, casual, and (obvi) cute covering when necessary. It's safe to say that practically everyone at R29 H.Q. relies upon some kind of easy-to-wear and easy-to-remove buttoned-up sweater for this in-between phase. This week, in particular, we couldn't help but spot our fellow team members showing off their stripes, animal prints, and colorful knits courtesy of their cardi of choice. Great minds think alike? Sounds about right!

Rad Or Bad: Should Cowboy Hats Off The Ranch Be Welcomed Or Outlawed?
When we think of the Wild West, we conjure up images of My Darling Clementine, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and The Outlaw Josey Wales. And with so many great Westerns to love, it’s no wonder the fashion world has such a sweet spot for the days of dueling showdowns.
Thanks to runway collections like Moschino and Kinder Aggugini, frontier chic is back with a bang, and with it, the cowboy hat. In fresh, bold colors and modern shapes, the updated styles of the cowboy hat might just take you to new frontiers, next season. But, when you're not on an actual ranch, are cowboy hats just overkill? To the comments, with your thoughts.

Inside R29: We See The World Through Rose-Colored Glasses
Even though yesterday was the nicest day of the season, we've been banking on sun all week. So, we keep our sunnies on-hand (or face) at all times, just in case the clouds should break — and they have! To give Mother Nature a hollerback and to whet your summery sartorial appetites, we've put together a slideshow of our favorite frames of the week. Click through for a special surprise guest (spoiler alert: a dog in sunnies!), and our homage to kissing those S.A.D. days goodbye.
Inside R29: We Show Off Our Fancy Pants
We already know colored denim is way in for spring (and right now!), but our staffers took it to heart... or to err... legs rather, when they sported the bright look in the office this week. Even more specifically, we've been seeing a lot of romantic hues—with reds, pinks, and purples making their way to the forefront—mixing and matching their way into our girls' personal style rotations all week. And, what's the biggest trend takeaway? Fancy pants don't need to be, well, fancy. All of these pants were found on the cheap. Click through to find out where to snag your pair now!
Inside R29: iPhone, YouPhone, WeAllPhone
You know we crush on cute tech cases on the reg, so it seems only natural that we show off our own. This time though, iPhones are the device du jour, and we've spared no expense (or ounce of chicness!) when it comes to decking them out. And why should we? We spend all day on (or next to) our phones, and we just happen to think that the way we decorate them says a little (or a lot) about our personal style. Don't believe us? Check out the slideshow and see a few variations on the technical classic.
