H Street Bakes Will Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth AND Your Potluck Needs

Should you find yourself in the mood for something homemade and delicious this weekend, stop by H Street Country Club on Sunday and satisfy your sweet tooth at the H Street Bakes sale. Once a month (or so), the group of neighborhood bakers and pastry chefs comes together in a new location along the nightlife corridor to peddle their carb-y wares.
One of the organizers is Kim Moffatt, the executive pastry chef at Granville Moore's by day and, well, a pastry chef by night as well, as it turns out. Moffatt hopes to turn the pop-up passion project into a full-time bakery, and on Sunday, she'll be turning out holiday sweets that include spiced pumpkin cheesecake, sweet potato pie, and bourbon-pecan pie. Also involved in the bake-fest: Biscuit, makers of artisan breads and savory treats, and the always-popular Crunkcakes, who make booze-soaked "adult" cupcakes and will be debuting their long-awaited vegan flavor this month. If you were the first to yell "I'll bring dessert!" during Thanksgiving potluck planning, this is a no-brainer for your weekend to-do list.
When: Sunday, November 20, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Where: H Street Country Club, 1335 H Street NE; 202-399-4722.
