Midday Dance Break: Let These Gorgeous Snaps Move You

On Monday night, hundreds of dance lovers were packed inside downtown NYC's Joyce Theater, in one moment, captivated by the unspeakably talented performers, and in another, erupting into a jubilant round of applause. But this performance was particularly special — not only did the Destiny Rising evening showcase incredible mastery of motion, but it also advocated for the continued education of passionate, young dancers.
From the jazzy "Sing, Sing, Sing" choreographed by Grace Buckley to the Conservatory Dance Company of Point Park University's powerful "Memoirs," the program featured a variety of numbers performed by graduates from the New York City Dance Alliance Foundation, which is dedicated to investing in the next generation of professional artists by offering college scholarships to promising young dancers. Recipients have gone on to study and perform at prestigious institutions such as Tisch School of Arts, The Julliard School, Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet, New York City Ballet, and many more.
Throughout the evening, all of the dancers – new and seasoned – made their talents clear. Bravo to an organization that nurtures and support such talent. Click through to get a taste of the night.
