What Happened When Lucky Jeans Went On Sale For A Penny Yesterday

Every avid shopper has at least once stumbled upon a deal that seemed too good to be true. It's an unnerving experience: Can I really have this? For that price? Unfortunately for the dozens of customers who thought they scored a pair of Lucky Brand
jeans for a penny on Tuesday, it actually was. A promotional code was publicly released prompting shoppers to use the code "VDAYCNTST," allowing them to buy any two pairs of jeans for
two cents (including free shipping). Obviously, this is a major markdown from the average retail price of Lucky Brand jeans, which typically ranges from $99 to $170. But, turns out — surprise! — this lucky break was never intended to happen and, needless to say, was subsequently unapproved by the company.

As a Lucky PR rep told Distractify, the promo code was supposed to be made available to employees only. "This morning, a promotional discount intended for Lucky Brand employees was released publicly," the brand's statement says. "While we are appreciative of the response from our customers, we are unable to fulfill the orders placed using this code." Although Lucky said it would offer customers who placed the order a "one-time discount for their inconvenience," somehow we doubt the replacement deal will come even close to a penny. Better luck next time. (Distractify)
