Incredibly Insensitive Politician Says Heinous Crime Is “The Curse Of God”

In the latest edition of dumb comments from politicians, Colorado state Rep. Gordon Klingenschmitt stands by his recent despicable comments regarding the gruesome stabbing of a pregnant woman in Colorado. The expectant mother’s unborn child was ripped from her body by a stranger, and the Republican representative claims the crime "is the curse of God upon America for our sin of not protecting innocent children in the womb,” reports The Huffington Post.  Oh. Hell. No. In a segment for  The Pray in Jesus Name Project, his online ministry, Gordon quotes the bible for backup: "The people of Samaria must bear their guilt, because they have rebelled against their God ... They will fall by the sword; their little ones will be dashed to the ground, their pregnant women ripped open.” He goes on to ask viewers "for an end to the holocaust which is abortion in America,” says The Huffington Post. Seriously? A woman is brutally attacked and this man responds by basically saying, "Shame. God is punishing her."   "As a mother, I am appalled by these abhorrent comments made about a horrific and heartbreaking tragedy," said Assistant Minority Leader Polly Lawrence in a statement to HuffPost. "These comments in no way align with the Republican caucus’ views and we soundly reject them." Klingenschmitt also pointed out his charity had donated money to the woman's family, who told 9 News they refunded the money.  Watch the full video below and good luck not having a rage stroke.
